Break Up Stories*
So you think you had a bad break up. Read these stories and you may feel better:
1. I was dumped last night by e-mail! It’s the first time I was dumped by e-mail! I now feel like I’m part of this new age of technology. The e-mail basically said she has no credit on her phone and is really busy at work and therefore can’t find the time to break up with me. It was the "think we should be friends" thing; I like that line, it’s the back door of all break ups. I had 4 months with her and it was mostly good so ..... ~Jass.
2. I was living with this guy and we were really happy. We'd been together for a long time. He proposed to me and I happily agreed, even though we are only 19. Through the 11 months before the wedding I asked him many times if he was really sure he wanted to get married, and the only answer I ever got was "dont be stupid, if i wasn't sure i wouldn't be marrying you."
We made all the preparations for the wedding: bought the dress, the catering, the reception hall, etc...
Then he had his stag night a week before the wedding. He got more drunk than he'd ever been in his life and came back with his eyebrows shaved off. Obviously, I was upset, as our wedding was in a week. I sent a text message to his friend telling her "well done" for letting it happen.
Well, my fiancee got mad. He said I was being horrible to his friends and ran off. When I finally caught up with him, he was still drunk, and he'd decided he didn't want to marry me anymore. Unfortunately, he didn't change his mind. He now says it wasn't me; he said he was happy with me but that he just wanted to be single. Thing is he's told me he doesn't love me anymore so I'm not sure what to think. Obviously I'm heartbroken because I still love him. I dont think I'm gonna get over this one in a hurry. ~Frankie
3. I was dating this girl quite some time ago; she and I had only been together about a month or so... I don't remember exactly anymore... I called her up one day to see if she'd want to get together, as we lived in different towns, only to find out that she had moved to Montana the day before. She never even bothered to say goodbye. ~Lance
4. I got the same old story: she went to a different college, I stayed back and went to commuter school. First weekend after school started I went out there spent 2 nights, by Sunday we broke up because she wanted to sleep with other people. She later on got kicked out of her house and the guy after me (her fiancee') dumped her ~Karma Joe
5. My ex of three years broke up with me for someone he just met on a website. He dropped everything he had here, including his friends, his schooling, and a chance to actually get a good job, for this girl. He took $275 dollars of my money, made promises to me that he was only leaving to “clear his head," and ran off to be with her. I live in Colorado , and now he is living in an all-girls dorm at the University of Alabama . He couldn't even get the guts to tell me it was over to my face; he just ran off. ~Dahlia
6. Is it really possible to fall in love in a week's time? Well, we had known each other for longer than that. But we started to get intimate during this one week. I knew from the first time I talked to her that I could grow old and die with her. . I was in love then, and still am now. But it just cannot be. It hurts so much...Some times I wake up thinking that I hear her crying, and I put my arm out to comfort her, but I realize it’s only me.... I've had my fill of women. If this is love, you can keep it. ~Steve
7. Well I was with this guy for about 4 months and we got along really well. He made me laugh and I just enjoyed being with him until I introduced him to my best friend who thought it was ok to have sex with him while I was dating him! Not only that, but he lied to me about it and said she got him drunk 8 times, which is pathetic! That was about 2 months ago now and I refuse to talk to either of them! Sigh! ~Maria
8. I got dumped in November because the guy I was dating decided he couldn't be in a relationship. This is after he made a huge deal three months before about how much he wanted to be with me. He chased me around all summer until I finally gave in. Then all of a sudden it turned into him wanting to be with me but he couldn't. In other words, he didn't want to put in the effort to be in a relationship and got upset I wasn't doing all the work. Instead of just coming out and saying, “hey this isn't working,” he decided to become suddenly "unavailable" and "busy". Busy is just another word for “asshole”. Why sugar coat it and string me along? Just tell me you don't want to date me anymore and I'll walk away and never look back. ~Sandy
9. I had never been in a relationship until I was nineteen. I met this guy and it was so passionate. I mean, we were soooooooo in tune. On the first date we kissed, and then I became his girlfriend, too. It was happening so fast: I would ask him to slow down but he said that we knew each other.
So, we never fought and I was totally in love with him. I would drive across town to meet him at 12am until 5am ever day because that’s how much I'd missed him. Every time I hung up the phone I would say I miss you. After dating a few days, I found out he was 25. The only reason I found is because I had sign for his credit card and then he had to verify some information and then I heard his birthday was 1979. He had told me he was 23, so i felt confused. Why did he lie to me?
Well, we kept dating, but I was foolish. I can usually spot when a guy only wants sex; that’s why I never had a relationship until 19. Every day he would ask when I was going to give him my virginity, and I would get upset and tell him ”not now.” Well, we would mess around a lot and a month later while I was staying at his apartment IT happened, and he finally got what he wanted. And after we had sex I just told him to stay with me, (not in a relationship but just be in my life he said I'll always be there I love you) and like three days later he dumped me.
It was messed up the way I found out he was pharmacist, that he had just gotten a job at this really nice hospital and I felt like there was some problems for those three days. He didn't want to speak to me, or be with me and I called him up on Saturday just wondering how his new job was, and he was like “why are you calling?” I said “because I care about you,” and he got annoyed and then I found it was over. I asked him why he lied to me by saying that he loved me. He just hung up on me.
It’s been a year and I haven't dated anyone else. I don't hate him at all; I still love him, but all I want to know is why he dumped me; he can’t be that mean that he just wanted to take my virginity. ~Ellen.
10. I was with a man for two years. We were in love and doing big things together, like buying a house together. He gave me a ring and we were going to take the walk down the aisle. Come to find out - he was cheating on me with some chick who was married! That was about 6 months ago - and I'm still all messed about it ~Bonnie
11. Oh boy....am I in pain now....my boyfriend and I dated for 5 years....and we had our ups and downs like everyone else has. I cheated and he forgave me (at least I thought he did)..I cheated a few years ago; things in our relationship had just gotten stale I guess...I went through this whole thing like I needed my space and wanted to see other people, but seeing others only made me realize I wanted him....and for awhile, our relationship was great. Then I guess that is when he started to not love me anymore...well last night we broke up and it hurts like hell...I thought we are going to be friends, I mean I have known the guy for a long time, almost 9 years total, first as friends, then as boyfriend/girlfriend. I have never had a broken heart and I don’t know how to move on. I was so close to his family, and I will miss them like hell too...break ups suck. ~Josie
12. I was involved in a long distance relationship. She stopped writing or calling, but I was extremely slow to take this for what it was...I was in denial. She played along, and continued to say that she loved me when I called her. She would even seemingly express interest in visiting me again. I've finally relented to the reality that she doesn't really care about me at all. I just don't know why she went through the motions for so long (3years). I really believed that I loved her...and I still do, but my love is in vain, so I'm walking away while I still have some youth and life left to find a true love. I was a devoted fool!~Allan
13. Just this morning I got dumped. My boyfriend got out of work at 11:30pm last night, drank at boss's house and got home about 5 a.m this morning. . He woke me up, knowing that I have to work at 8 a.m. Then he proceeds to tell me that he can't watch my daughter like he promised; he knows I won't be able to find anyone else at the last minute. Did I mention that we're staying at a friend's because my boyfriend didn't want to work and we ended up losing our apartment? So now at my age I have to move back in with my mom, with no car, and try and find someone to watch my daughter while I work 40+ hr/week. And let’s not forget that he owes me so much money! -SusieQ
